Welcome to Floral Thoughts Photography.
I am a mom to my 3-year-old daughter and newborn son. I am the wife to my best friend and adventure partner. I am a believer, a flower lover, a wine drinker, a moon gazer, a barefoot walker, and a sundress wearer. You’ll find me the happiest at a dinner table outside, under the stars with candlelight illuminating my friend’s smiles, and the wine in their glasses.
As evidenced by Floral Thoughts Photography, I am a lover of all things floral. To me flowers are delicate, unique, whimsical, intentional and joyful - elements of a lifestyle that I seek to imitate in my own life. I strive to appreciate life’s little moments, just as much as the big ones and know that even in the hard times, the valleys always serve a purpose for our growth.
I began my photography journey my first summer in college when I spent 3 months in Japan. In an effort to capture this incredible adventure and culture, I bought my first SLR camera. I fell in love with capturing moments, people and experiences. I felt photography was a way to make fleeting moments linger a little longer; that through a looking at a photo from the past you could be transported back to that place, and that moment. And if the photo was really good, emotions were captured in such a way that no matter how far removed you are from that memory, those emotions are brought right back up to the surface in a way that creates pinpricks under your skin.
It wasn't until 10 years later, when I became a mom, that I truly understood just how fleeting moments can feel, and just how desperate we are to hold onto them.
So, I dusted off my camera and started documenting these moments again, in every attempt to freeze moments in time. Every wrinkly finger grasped around mine, every time I caught her daddy holding her, swaying in the nursery to Simon and Garfunkel and every new milestone she accomplished, while we watched in awe.
Sitting in the hectic stillness motherhood (often in the depths of the night when everyone else is asleep), I realized that I yearned to connect with other moms and help them capture their own fleeting moments. Floral Thoughts Photography was launched from that desire. Since then, I have been blessed to capture so many incredible milestones for families from loss to gain, from quiet to rowdy, from newborns to newlyweds. I strive for playful, gentle, authenticity in all of my sessions - creating timeless images that serve as a time capsule for my clients.

From the availability she has to get sessions booked, to giving ideas for clothing options for a family, to getting the BEST pictures of my kiddos because she just knows how to make them smile, I cannot say enough great things about our experiences each time we have worked with Jordan! We have done our immediate family photos with her as well as extended family photos and I cannot tell you the amount of times I get complimented on how great the pictures turned out! So often we forget to print the pictures after they are taken, but with my pictures from Jordan I haven’t had enough frames in my home to print all the ones I want to show off! Thanks Jordan for making family photos stress free and enjoyable with the perfect end results!! Jordan is a natural at what she does and I can’t say enough positive things about Floral Thoughts Photography!
